This project aims to capture oral reminiscences of the life and customs of the local inhabitants. These unique records of everyday life flesh out the history found in books. For these records to be available both immediately and in the long term, they are stored at the CREPA. The contents are indexed according to a system devised by the CREPA and are gradually being transcribed in full. Rules and regulations govern the practical details of the project and the conditions of use of the documents. To date some 350 interviews have been carried out of which about 50 concern people from the Commune of Orsières. At the moment they can only be consulted at the CREPA.
Mr. Roger Fellay is responsible for organising the interviews concerning the Commune of Orsières.
